About
I bring over 26 years of experience in the ASC space. I began my career as a Practice Administrator for a large Orthopedic Spine Medical Group overseeing cross functional clinical and administrative teams, along with one-year fellowship physicians. From there, I became the Business Office Manager of a multi-specialty, 5-OR, 3 GI suite, 1 pain room center where I developed a strong foundation in ambulatory surgery center operations and patient-centered care. I was promoted to Regional Director of Business Operations. I held this role for 21 years. I had the responsibility of 22 centers over 3 markets and 6 states and one CBO. At one time I had over 40 centers, spanning 11 states. I worked remotely and traveled 50 to 75%, to be onsite as needed.
Strong ASCs excel in outstanding patient outcomes, exceptional experience for patient, surgeons, and staff and strong financial performance. My goal is always to help build and deliver all three consistently. I have led initiatives focused on operational performance, financial oversight and cross-functional collaboration with clinical and administrative teams. I developed tools to improve charge, supply, implant and drug capture and reimbursement, strengthening both operation consistency and financial outcomes. Across my career, my focus has centered on three key areas: building high-performing teams, improving financial and operational performance, and advancing ASC efficiency while maintaining quality patient outcomes and strong physician partnerships. I have proven experience with budget development, financial forecasting, KPIs, end to end revenue cycle, supply chain management, contract negotiations, vendor management, capital planning, productivity metrics, cost containment, all in response to how financially complex healthcare is becoming. I can bring relevant experience to efficiency, staff utilization management, physician satisfaction, patient experience, turnover and start times, workflow design, performance dashboards, and process improvement. I have the ability to rely on metrics and historical data to report on room utilization, physician utilization, supply costs per case, revenue per case, EBITDA, patient satisfaction, and productivity. I have the knowledge to oversee the overall success of the business office front-end processes with efficient scheduling, admissions, medical records, verification and up-front collections along with extensive back-end RCM experience including coding, billing, posting, denial prevention and management, credit balances, days in AR, AP, bad debt, aged accounts and collections. I am skilled at bridging the clinical and administrative teams to ensure patient, physician and staff satisfaction, along with ensuring regulatory compliance and clinical documentation.
I have experience working with teams for survey/accreditation readiness, CMS regulations, state reporting, risk and quality management, policy development, auditing, and HIPAA. Additionally, I have experience with new surgery center de novo builds, joint ventures and acquisitions.
